Frankincense

Frankincense is a warm, spicy oil that has many uses. Frankincense is often called the “king oil” and was historically given to kings as a gift. It has soothing properties and is amazing for use on the skin, helping to clear and detoxify. Frankincense can also be used to calm and balance the mood.

Frankincense is wonderful for birth because of its calming and restorative properties. It can be used to recenter the mom and relieve her fears and anxieties surrounding birth. It can also help if the mother is not coping well with with her labor, helping her get into a better coping rhythm.

Frankincense also blends well with many other oils. You can blend it with lavender or roman chamomile for a more relaxing, sedative effect or with wild orange for a more calm, focused, uplifting effect. It can be a skin irritant, so it is important to do allergen testing and make sure to dilute properly if using topically, but is generally safe for a topical use and can help with stretch marks and improve skin appearance.

I love frankincense because it can be used in so ways. I use this often personally to help balance my mood and make me feel safe and grounded. I have anxiety, so this is one that i really love. I also think this oil can be helpful for an anxious birth partner. This oil is also used to boost immune system, reduce the appearance of scars, and to help
